Belarus is locally called Respublika Byelarus' and the form of government it has is Republic.
The capital of Belarus is Minsk and has a population of 1.8 million.

The Belarusian flag is features red horizontal band (top) and green horizontal band one-half the width of the red band; a white vertical stripe on the hoist side bears Belarusian national ornamentation in red; the red band color recalls past struggles from oppression, the green band represents hope and the many forests of the country and is presented above.
The National symbol of Belarus is mounted knight known as Pahonia (the Chaser).
The National anthem of Belarus is ""My Belarusy" ("We, the Belarusians")[note 2]" which was composed by Nestar Sakalowski.
